Changing the Backwash Frequency & Time of Backwash for the Atmos AIO

There are circumstances where you may want to change how frequently the Atmost AIO system backwashes or the time of day it backwashes. You can follow the instructions below to change both.

The backwash frequency is altered by changing the Regen Day value. It is important to note that the maximum value for Regen Day is 3. If a value greater than 3 is used, the system will not backwash frequently enough to maintain the health of the filtration media which will drastically affect its effectiveness and lifespan.

The Atmos AIO default Regen Day is 2, meaning it backwashes every other night. If you find that your system is not performing well enough (especially as it relates to sulphur smell) you may want to change the Regen Day to 1 (so the system backwashes every night).

The default time of backwash for the Atmos AIO is 2:00am which is ideal for most households. However, you can set the system to backwash whenever you want. It is important to offset the time of backwash with other pieces of backwashing water treatment equipment. For instance, if you have a water softener that regenerates at 2:00am and takes 1.5 hours, it would be wise to change the Atmos time of backwash to 1:00am or 3:45am so the two pieces of equipment don't try to backwash at the same time.
